How do I apply for my child to start school?

If you have a child who is due to start school in September 2026 the online application process will open on Monday 3rd November 2025 and closes Thursday 15th January 2026. Applications are made online to Portsmouth Admissions Service and not directly to the school. Information on the application process can be found on the Portsmouth City Council website. National Offer Day is Tuesday 16th April 2026.

When can my child start school?

To start school in September 2026, your child must be born on or between 1st September 2021 - 31st August 2022.

How can I book a tour?

We are pleased to share that dates for our 2026-27 Year R Prospective Parent tours are now published and open for bookings (see below).

Please be advised that these tours are specifically aimed towards parents. Therefore, we ask that children do not attend. If you arrive with your child, you will be asked to rebook for an alternative date/time.

Bookings can be made by emailing admin@langstoneprimary.chimat.uk - Please include the date and time you wish to book with the full names of those attending and a contact number.

The tours start at the Stride Avenue Office and will finish at the Lakeside Avenue Office.
